Another View On ShowRooming
The new CEO of Best Buy, Hubert Joly, recently made an interesting statement on the phenomenon of Showrooimng. In a visit to the Wall Street Journal he said “We love showrooming, We want to turn the tables and embrace showrooming.”
Personally we think that he has a very healthy attitude. Instead of trying to find a way to continue business as usual he’s looking at finding a new way to use the changing business model to their advantage. After all, once you have a potential customer in your brick-and-mortar store you should be able to close a sale. The customer came into your store for a reason, they want to check out products personally. A retailers job is over half done and all they need to do is close the sale.
