A New Service from Sigma Lenses

Sigma recently announced a new service for SLR camera users. They will now provide a lens mount conversion service so buyers of their Sigma Global Vision lenses who switch camera mounts will be able to get their Sigma lenses modified for their new cameras.

The new service will begin in September and all of the work will be done in Japan. Cost vary from $80 for DN lenses going up to $250 for each Super Telephoto.Lens mounts available are: Sigma, Nikon, Canon, Sony, Pentax, micro4/3 and Sony E-mount.

How many users will take advantage of this service is problematic to us. Virtually all SLR users stick with a camera lens mount for longer than they stay married.  We wish Sigma luck with this venture but don’t see it being a big attraction for buyers.
