News from MSFT

At an event in New York, Microsoft showed off its new
line of Surface products, including updates to the existing
laptop line and a new product: the Surface Headphones.
The laptops also come in an additional new color that
should please fans of all things dark mode.

Confirming the leaks just hours before the event, Microsoft
kicked off the event with the announcement of the Surface
Pro 6, a refresh of the company’s laptop / tablet hybrid that
now comes in a new matte black color and an upgraded
Intel 8th Generation processor. It weighs in at 1.7 pounds,
and boasts up to 13.5 hours of battery life.

Also available in matte black, Microsoft unveiled the second-
generation Surface Laptop — a refresh of the original device
from last year. The Surface Laptop 2 retains the love-it-or-
hate-it Alcantara fabric keyboard cover and has a 13.5-inch
display, an 8th Gen quad core processor, and up to 14.5
hours of battery life.

The Surface Pro 6 and Surface Laptop 2 start at $899 and
$999, respectively, with preorders starting today and shipping

on October 16th.
