FatCat Powerbar Review

By George Harding

We have so many devices these days and each one has to have adequate power in order to work. How do we keep them all charged? With difficulty! Each has its own cable and connector. Do we carry all the cables with us everywhere we go? Probably not, so being powerless is a possibility.

The Fatcat Powerbar gives you a solution to these problems. It’s about the size of a cell phone and attractively finished in a dark blue, smooth, tough plastic cover. It has a button for On at top center, which triggers a light blue light (four other colors are available), and a connector port on the side.

It comes pre-charged so you can use it immediately, but you can charge it any time with the included cable by connecting to a laptop or computer. Once charged, it will retain at least 80% of that charge for a year. You can count on it when you need it!

When it comes time to charge your device, you can use the cable that came with it, or you can use the included cable with one of the tips appropriate to your device. The tips will attach to iPhone-types, mini-USB, micro-USB and DC 3.5 X 1.3. Other tips are available.

Powerbar includes several protections: it prevents over-charging, which can damage the battery in your device; It also prevents over-discharging, as well as over-current and short circuit protection.
The Powerbar comes with a very nice storage bag and a short, but complete, User Guide. There is a 2 year limited warranty. Powerbar comes in three power capacities: 2000 mAh, 4200 mAh and 9600 mAh.
