The death of Kodak continues
Kodak has announced the death of yet another product line. The last of the E-6 processing films is being discontinued. The Ektachrome and Elite 35mm slide films were the last two products being made by them but sales had declined to the point where it no longer made sense to keep making them.
Kodak will keep making the chemicals needed to process the film so photographers who have a stash in the freezer will be able to get their film processed for a while yet. That is if they can find a lab that is still in business.
It took a couple of decades for digital cameras to totally replace film but it’s clear that digital is the only game in town anymore. The King is dead, long live the KIng!
