MSFT Bing Marketing Failure

MSFT recently canceled yet another of their hair-brained schemes designed to make lots of money for them and costing consumers. The “Brazil” project was designed to link their Bing search engine to brick-and-mortar stores and lead paying customers to participating stores.

All of us have experienced “targeted” ads when we’re online but this was going to be an attempt to go one step further. They were going to track your actual location and “suggest” likely places you’d spend money.

We have enough intrusion into our privacy already by people in Washington, DC. The last thing we need is more intrusion by people in Washington State!!
