RIM: Will the last one out turn off the lights?
By Chuck Hajdu
There’s more bad news from Research In Motion, the makers of BlackBerry software and devices. The latest from RIM is that version 10 of their OS will be delayed until next year. On top of that the reported losses of $518 million in the last quarter and they are laying off another 5k workers.
RIM has reached the point where they must find someone to acquire them of they will have to go out of business. It’s only been a few years since Palm and RIM where the two biggest players in their markets and now they are both non-players. This is the way things work in a healthy market place: innovate or die.
My suggestion to RIM is: have the last person out make sure to turn the lights off.
