Less and Less in iOS 6

The iFruit company has announced that the next version of their iOS will not have a YouTube app. It turns out that their license has expired and they won’t be renewing it. When you take into consideration that iOS 6 also won’t have Google Maps on it, a distinct pattern forms.

No Google Maps and no Google YouTube app means the battle between the two Tablet 800 pound gorillas is heating up. It makes sense for the iFruit company to stop paying money to the maker of their biggest rival but it makes me nervous. Will this just be another chapter in the Battle of the Patents? How many more lawsuits are going to come from these decisions?

It reminds me of Washington, DC. The Republicans and Democrats are dug in and entrenched in their non-cooperative positions, with both sides refusing to give in.
