Meg Whitman made a great decision this week, HP will be keeping the personal systems group and continue selling PCs. We had hoped that she would reverse some of the terrible decisions her predecessor had made and she is. It still boggles my mind that the number one PC seller would have even considered selling off a division that was continuing to make money in a slow world-wide economy. Fortunately for HP they now have a CEO who knows what she's doing and she'll keep them on the right track.
Now let's hope they get back into the tablet market. They have the infrastructure to seriously challenge all comers and can create the kind of products that people will want to buy. HP and Lenovo are the two biggest players in the PC game and they need to lead the way with innovative products.
